Everything Under the Rug is photographed primarily with my mother in familiar places, like her corporate office and the track at my former high school.

Mixing the everyday strangeness of suburban life with dreamlike scenes inspired by the children’s books we read together, the project asks whether the stories we tell ourselves are ever the whole truth — or if, like the stories in children’s books, there’s always an element of make-believe.
